Obituary for Helen Isabel Pernet, The Times (IL) December 09, 1975

A former Odell resident, Mrs. Helen Millholland, 65, Vallejo, Calif., formerly of Odell, died Saturday in a San Francisco, Calif., hospital after an extended illness.

Funeral service and burial will be in Vallejo, Calif.

Surviving are her husband, James A. Millholland; her mother, Mrs. Clara Pernet, Long Beach, Calif.; two sons, Clark and James, both of Vallejo, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Harriet McFeders, Laguna Beach, Calif.; Mrs. Lyle Brown, Odell; five grandchildren.

She moved to California in 1928.

Obituary for James Allaire Millholland, Jr., Times Herald (CA)

Jim passed away at his home from natural causes. Born in Long Beach to James A. Millholland and Helen Pernet Millholland, they relocated toVallejo in 1939.

Jim is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rosemary; daughters, Denise Button, Toni (Frank) DeHaven, Christie Richards, Nikki Millholland, and son Jimmy (Sandie) Millholland; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Jim is also survived by his brother and best friend, Clark A. Millholland, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Jim graduated from Vallejo High School in 1953. He served four years in the United States Marine Corps. His 33-year career at Mare Island Naval Shipyard started in 1955, he retired Dec. 1988. In retirement, Jim stayed very busy volunteering for several organizations and clubs and found the more than 25 years with the San Pablo Bay Wildlife Refuge the most rewarding.

Jim loved people, making new friends, and experiencing new adventures. His greatest love was his family, the outdoors, animals and making others laugh. His hobbies were reading, collecting and artistic wood burning. Jim was an extraordinary camper and the family trips to the Sierras were legendary. Jim was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.

At his request there will be no formal services. Private family interment was held on Jan. 8. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later time.

Bobby Gerald Richards, 32, of Vallejo, California died Friday at Port St. Joe.

The service will be at 2 PM Tuesday at Kelly Funeral Home Chapel in Apalachicola, with burial at Magnolia Cemetery. Family will receive friends beginning at noon on Monday at the funeral home

A native of Franklin County and resident of Vallejo for 25 years, he was a pipefitter and a Baptist.

He is survived by his father and stepmother, Glenn and Linda Richards of Apalachicola; his mother and stepfather, Ada and Jay Gillespie of Vallejo, Calif., his wife, Christy Richards of Vallejo; a son, Robert Jay Richards Vallejo; a daughter, Kayla Marie Richards of Vallejo; three brothers, Joseph D. Richards of Apalachicola and Glenn A. Richards and John Gillespie both of Vallejo; three sisters, Glenda Boon of Vallejo and Stephanie Scofield, both of Apalachicola; his maternal grandmother Ola Shiver of Eastpoint; and his paternal grandparents J. D. And Lula Mae Richards of Apalachicola.

Mrs. Virginia Macy, 64. East Hook Cross Road, died Tuesday at her home.

She was born in New York City Jan. 8, 1912, the daughter of Allen and Amalie (Quackenbush) Millholland. A resident of this community the last 22 years, she was retired as a clerk in the U S District Court, Poughkeepsie where she had been employed for 10 years, she was a member of the East Fishkill Historical Society and the Wiccopee Community Church She attended Russell Sage College.

In addition to her husband Elwood H Macy, she is survived by four sons E. Herbert, Hughsonville, Randolph M. Denver Colo , James D. Germantown, Tenn. and Lambert M. Los Angeles, Calif.: a daughter, Mrs. Patrick Renschen Middletown, Conn.; two brothers Lambert F. Q. Millholland, Fishkill, and James A Millholland, Vallego, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Hermione Hall Staatsburg, 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be private on Thursday at the McHoul Funeral Home. Route 82, Hopewell Junction The Rev Marion C Cox will officiate. Burial will be in Fishkill Rural Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.

Hopewell Junction Elwood H. ‘Mace” Macy, 75, of Old Farm Road, Hopewell Junction, died Saturday at St. Frances Hospital, Beacon.

He was an engineer for IBM East Fishkill until his retirement in 1978. He was a lifetime resident of the area.

Mr. Macy was a trustee of the Wiccopee Community United Methodist Church. He also belonged to the IBM Genealogy Club, East Fishkill Historical Society, Nantucket Historical Society, New Hamburg Yacht Club, Glenham Seniors, AARP, AF&M Beacon Lodge. He also was a life member of the Wiccopee Fire Department.

He was born in Beacon July 28, 1911, to Elwood and Lila Cooper Macy. His first wife Virginia Randolph Millholland died in 1978.

He married Louise Valentino Christiana, who survives, May 24, 1986, in Wappingers Falls. He also is survived by four sons, E. Herbert Macy of Hughsonville, Randolph M. Macy of Denver, James D. Macy of Lilburn, Ga., and Lambert M. Macy of Houston; a daughter Virginia Renschen of Middletown, Conn; two stepdaughters, Geraldine McGaughey of Fishkill, and Barbara Johannessen of Hyde Park; a sister Ethel Rose of Beacon; 16 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, Route 82, Hopewell Junction.

The funeral will be Thursday at noon at the Wiccopee Community Methodist Church, Old Grange Road, Hopewell Junction with Rev. Bernice F. West officiating. Burial will be in Fishkill Rural Cemetery.

Olga Macy passed away on April 18, 2020, after a sudden, unexpected illness. “Mimi”, as she was known by her four granddaughters, Kylie, Campbell, Lauren, and Audrey, was the fabric of her family; they were her inner circle, along with close friends. She was loving, extraordinarily selfless and giving. Without compare, she was a positive force who wove a support structure for all who knew her. Mimi was a masterful motivator, eternally optimistic and unendingly supportive no matter what the goal - whether it was sports, life-decisions, or her biggest passion, education. She had a thirst for learning which she conveyed to her students with enthusiasm - both as a teacher and a counsellor.

Early in life, Olga married Jim and had two sons (Jim Jr. and Mark) shortly thereafter. She began attending college part-time once her sons started school, while still working. She persistently pursued her educational goals and earned undergraduate and master’s degrees. She was two courses away from completing her doctorate in education but was sidelined by cancer which she ultimately overcame and the arrival of her granddaughters. During this time, she continued her life's work as both a university administrator and college professor and began, with Jim Sr., to build their retirement home in Georgia, near her son Mark and his family. After her retirement from DeVry, she enjoyed this house immensely, not only during the holidays, when the entire family would gather there, but also during the fall when they would host gatherings for her granddaughters’ closest friends. Her favorite activities included relaxing on the porches and deck with Jim Sr., playing tennis and, most importantly, cheering at her granddaughter Kylie’s softball games and Campbell’s cheering squad, track, and soccer competitions.

Connecticut, where her son Jim Jr. and his family live, became a second home. She loved to see the snow fall in the winter and the flowers bloom in the spring. She planned multiple extended visits every year with Jim Sr. to see her granddaughters Lauren and Audrey and care for them as they were growing up. Lauren and Audrey always looked forward to playing cards and games with them as, despite the distance, Olga always insisted, from the day they were born, that they know their Mimi. Her granddaughters -each of them- gave her endless joy in her life; she loved supporting them more than anything, and they loved being with her.

Olga and Jim Sr. were a true “bonded pair”; they were married for over 55 years and were rarely apart. They enjoyed almost everything together in an incredible relationship that was rare, by all standards. Words cannot express how privileged we were to have her as a wife, mother, grandmother, and caring friend - an honor that will never be forgotten. She passed away in Atlanta, GA, with Jim Sr. and Mark at her side. Just before passing, she moved her arm briefly when they said goodbye as if to say, "so long" and remind us to care for one another as she did for everyone. At the time of death, large snowflakes were falling in CT -- the kind she loved to watch while visiting. It was as if she was speaking to Jim Jr., who could not be in Georgia, to tell him goodbye and not to worry. These last farewells epitomized the true essence of Mimi. Although her sudden loss is devastating and our grief is inexpressible, we keep her close to our hearts knowing her legacy lives on, not only through her family but all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Olga Macy is survived by her husband Jim Macy Sr., her two sons Jim Macy Jr. (Jackie Quin) and Mark Macy, Shannon Macy, her brother Willie Wilson, wife Kathryn Wilson and her four granddaughters Kylie, Campbell, Lauren, and Audrey Macy. Obituary for Hermoine Millholland, Poughkeepsie December 10, 1988

Hermione W. Hall, 75, a retired hospital aide and Staatsburg resident, died Friday after a short Illness at Vassar Brothers Hospital in the City of Poughkeepsie.

She had worked as an aide at the Hudson River Psychiatric Center, in the Town of Poughkeepsie until her retirement in April 1981.

Mrs. Hall lived in Staatsburg for 17 years after moving from Fishkill. She was born on Feb. 24, 1913, In New York City, to Allen and Amalie Quackenbush Millholland. Her husband, Jon Hall, predeceased her in November 1960.

She is survived by three sons, Elmer Magee Jr., and Charles D. Magee Sr., both of Hopewell W. Hall and Warren A. Magee Sr. of Pennsville, N.J.; a daughter, Virginia E. Morris of Stuart, Fla.; two brothers: era, Lambert Millholland of Fishkill, and James Millholland of Vallejo, Calif; 17 grandchildren; 14 great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Sweet's Funeral Home, Route 9, Hyde Park. Services will begin at 10 a m Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Hondorp officiating. Burial will follow in the Fishkill Rural Cemetery.

Elmer L. Magee, age 94 of Pennsville died Thursday November 8, 2007, at the Friends Village at Woodstown. Born in Glenham, N.Y. he was the son of the late Warren and Ettabell Buckout Magee. Elmer was a longtime Pennsville resident.

He was employed as a chemical operator for the DuPont Chamber Works, Deepwater where he retired in 1970 following 42 years’ service and was a member of the DuPont Veterans Association. Former member of the Penns Grove Moose Lodge, he also worked as an auxiliary policeman for Pennsville Township, member of the Light House Baptist Church of Upper Deerfield. Elmer enjoyed traveling.

Survived by his wife Linda S. Hargrove Magee, sons, Elmer Magee of Jessup, Ga., Warren Magee Sr. of Pennsville, Charles Magee of Tryon, N.C., John Magee, Zephyr, Fla., also survived by six stepchildren, Claire Scarfo, Melinda Weisgerber, Harold Homan, James Homan, Billy Homan, and Carol Tripit. 10 grandchildren and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren.

Predeceased by five brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tues. Nov. 13 at the LAUGHREY FUNERAL HOME, Pennsville where friends may call Mon. evening from 7 to 9 p.m. Burial will be at the Lawnside Cemetery, Woodstown.

The New York native had lived in Wayne County the past 30 years and was a retired employee with East Fishkill NY Highway Department. The U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict enjoyed bowling, dancing, and spending time with his family.

Survivors are his wife of 58 years, Bobbie P. Magee of Jessup; two daughters, Terry (Dwight) Wang of West Park, NY, Linda (James) Halvin of Kissimmee, Fla.; two sons, Elmer “Karate” ( Barbara Jean) Magee, III of Jessup, Billy (Bridget) Magee of Hopeville Junction, NY; 3 brothers, Warren Magee of Pennsville, NJ, Charles Magee of Tryon, NC, John Magee of Landrum, SC; 13 grandchildren, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be 3 P.M. Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at Georgia Veterans MemorialCemetery in Glennville with Dr. Ron Wilcox officiating and full military honors. Jenny died on August 27, 2017, at age 59. She faced her battle with cancer with the same courage, dignity, and humor that marked her life. Jenny was predeceased by her parents (John and Carol), her son (Jason) and her sister (Lucy.) She is survived by her sisters Ann and Carey Haughwout (John Tierney), her partner Irvin Harmon, her niece Melissa, her cats, Julie and Tommy, and many loving friends in West Palm Beach and Stuart.

PENNSVILLE - Services for Warren Allen Magee, Jr. his wife, Kathleen Marie Raine Magee, and their children Michael Patrick, 3 1⁄2, and Jeremy Allen, 2, who were killed in a fire at their home Saturday morning will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville.

Friends may call at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Salem County Veterans Cemetery, Woodstown.

Mr. Magee, 33, and Mrs. Magee, 37, were asleep at their home at 32 Fordham Road, when the fire broke out about 2 a.m. A guest at the house alerted neighbors of the fire but attempts to rescue the family were futile.

Mr. Magee was a drywall finisher for Walter Carrar out of New Jersey Local 1976. He served in the Navy in 1973.

Mrs. Magee was a custodian at White Oak Motor Lodge, Pennsville.

Survivors include Mrs. Magee's two sons, Joseph “Archie” Finlaw of the same address, and Edward Finlaw of Pennsville: Mr. Magee's two sons, Warren A. III and Jason, both of Mannington.

Mr. Magee's survivors include his parents, Warren A., Sr. and Alice Kell Magee of Pennsville; his grandfather, Elmer Magee of Pennsville; his grandmothers, Ruth B. Alestock Kell of Shiloh and Hermoine Hall of Stattsburg, N.Y., a brother, Wayne A. Magee of West Chester, Pa.; and a sister Karla Jane Magee of Pennsville.

Mrs. Magee's survivors also include her mother and stepfather, Helen H. and George E. Bradway of Penns Grove; her step-grandmother, Alice Bradway of Carneys Point; two brothers, Walter Raine of Penns Grove and Robert Raine of Pennsville; two half brothers, George Bradway of Carneys Point and Bruce Bradway of Penns Grove; two sisters, Roberta Taylor of Maryland and Mary Ann Renner of Pennsville.

Obituary for Wayne A. Magee, The News Journal (NJ) July 25, 1988

Wayne A. Magee, age 63 of Pennsville passed away on Tuesday August 4, 2020, at his residence. He was born February 14, 1957, in Woodbury, NJ and is the son of Warren A. Magee, Sr. and the late Alice J. Kell Magee. Wayne was a longtime Pennsville resident. He was a member of the Drywall Finishers Union Local 1955 out of Philadelphia, PA for many years. Following his employment with the Union he moved to Maine for several years and worked restoring old homes. He moved back to Pennsville and most recently worked with a local handyman doing drywall finishing and painting. Survived by his sister, Karla Magee, daughter, Erin Magee and a son, Ethan Magee. He also leaves behind his beloved dogs, Bingo, and Daisy. He was predeceased by a brother, Warren A. Magee, Jr. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.

Obituary for Rebecca Ann Emory, Hope Valley Hawkins Tribute Wall

Rebecca Ann Magee 79 passed away on Friday, November 20, 2020, at her home.

Rebecca Magee was born in 1941 in Newburgh, NY to the late Grover C. Emory and Ivy Rodley- Emory. Rebecca “Becky” entered into this world an unusual lady from the get-go; green-eyed, left- handed, talented, and pretty. I would jab her here and there jokingly saying, “mom, you were just born weird” and she'd laugh.

Mom grew up in Beacon, NY, with two loving parents, both medical professionals, and her big brother “Jimmy.” They were a “tag team”, often raising a little mischief. Mom had a rare opportunity to travel to England after WWII ended with her mum and Jimmy to see their grandfather and family in Sheffield and the great devastation England survived. Traveling by ship on the Queen Mary and The Queen Elizabeth; being a very young girl, it was an experience she never forgot. While at her Grandpa James' house, she threatened to throw eggs at the door if he did not open it.

Moms greatest interest as a teen was studying DRAMA in school; as well as, arts and crafts, sewing, and reading. Her Aunt Ethel, from NJ, was in the silent movie era and a show girl, owning a studio in NYC in the heyday and had an influence on mom's interest in acting and stage plays. She enjoyed going to her church every Sunday and sang in the children's choir for a time. Mom loved to sit out on her porch in the morning with her coffee, cigarette, nightgown, housecoat, and socks in quiet silence. Being a very “routine” person, she then headed into her “craft room” on certain days, creating something new. True to her zodiac sign, Libra, she was truly “balancing the scales,” the glue that kept it all together in the home. She had keen interest in the weather report and the politics of the day, often reading books on history, especially U.S. Civil War stories, those were her favorite. She liked taking little trips. She loved living in Virginia for a spell and never wanted to leave Northern VA, her heart resonated with the area there.

Becky devoted her life to raising her 6 children, being a housewife, and making her many arts and crafts as gifts for family and friends. Her “silent” way of showing her love. We later discovered the shore was her “HAPPY PLACE”; she loved the ocean, boat rides, and watching the sunrise with her very special friends Judy & Emery. Adventurous as she was, she went surfing for the handicapped at Carolina Beach after she had been diagnosed with a rare neuro degenerative brain disorder in August of 2017, PSP, similar to Parkinson’s. She was scared but loved every minute of sitting on the board riding in on the waves, it was awesome. Of course, there were 6 young volunteers guiding her all the way. Sharon took mom on many trips the last several years, train trips to NJ, road trips to NY, Maine twice, The Finger Lakes, Alabama, Cooperstown, NY, Emerald Isle, and of course Myrtle Beach. She loved visiting with Greyson and Waylon, her great grandson & great-great grandson, because they made her laugh and smile, and it warmed her heart. She needed that attention only a child can give. In addition to her parents, Rebecca Magee is preceded in death by her sister: Ivy Emory.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 28, 2020, at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy. Clinton.

Family will receive friends following the service.

Rebecca leaves to cherish her memories, husband: Charles Magee of Tryon, NC, children: Sharon Hunt, Charles Magee Jr., Daniel Magee, David Magee, Timothy Magee, Susan Satterfield, brother: James Emory and wife Patsy, grandchildren: Rebecca Pittman, Joel Harvey, Brian Magee, Tatiana Magee, Tanner Magee, Nicolas Magee, Samuel Magee, Dana’e Clenney, and Dominique Magee. Rebecca Magee also leaves behind, great grandchildren: Kate Rebecca Herring, Logan Pittman, Waylon Harvey, Mason Magee, Magnus (Max) Magee, Olivia Clenney, Kenlyn Magee, great-great grandchild: Greyson Jordan, and her two special dogs: Maggie and Marla.
